Rabbit and Deer
The friendship of the Rabbit and the Deer is tested by a new obsession of the Deer, who wants to find a formula for the 3rd dimension. “Rabbit and Deer” is a master’s film by director Péter Václav from MOME Anim in Budapest. It has been screened at approximately 300 festivals in 63 countries and won more than 125 awards. Péter is an award-winning animation director from Budapest, Hungary, born in 1988. He graduated from MOME Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Animation with his films “Streamschool” and “Rabbit and Deer”, which brought him world acclaim and more than 125 awards. at international festivals (Annecy, Cannes, Nashville, Atlanta …).
After graduating, Péter co-founded the one-year avant-garde film group Caravel Collective in France, where he made experimental films. His debut feature short film “Pillowface” had its international premiere at the prestigious Warsaw Film Festival in 2018. Peter is currently developing his new 25-minute puppet animation “Noah’s Tree”, the most ambitious project he has ever worked on.

Martin Smatana (born in 1991 in Žilina) is a graduate of animation from the FAMU Film School in Prague. His debut film “Rosso Papavero” (2015) premiered at the Berlinale 2015, was screened at more than 200 film festivals, and won 15 international awards.
Martin’s latest film, “The Kite,” premiered at the 2019 Berlinale. The Kite has been released in cinemas in several European countries. To date, the film has been screened at more than 150 festivals and won 65 international awards, including Best Children’s Film at the Annecy Film Festival and Best Children’s Short Film at the Stuttgart Film Festival. Martin founded his own film production company Studio Bororo in Slovakia. He is currently working on a new short animated film for children, “Hello Summer”. In addition, he is working on the illustrated book “Dobrosaurus” about good news from around the world.
